Wildlife we love
We’ve all seen Mr. Great Blue Heron standing at attention at the pond in front of Creek 4. If you’ve also had the opportunity to catch him taking flight or landing (perhaps on Creek 6 pond), you’ve seen a master fisherman at work.
Here’s a great shot of the big boy. Birders refer to this species as the GBH.

Wildlife we love
I love birds! Thanks to my pet sitter – who is a bird expert – I have access to great pictures and a fantastic education about our fine feathered friends. As a golfer, I love to watch birds on the courses that I play. Just yesterday, I had the awesome experience of standing on a green at Packsaddle Ridge while a Wild Turkey hen made her way across the green, not 10 feet from where we were standing.
Golfing is so much more than a score!!
My friend, the bird expert, sent me this picture from her birding community. This is a great shot inside the nest of a Screech Owl. A birder friend has been monitoring the owlets and this shot shows the mom sleeping, with her wing spread over her babies. Unfortunately, you may also see the signs of a sacrificed cardinal who fed the family and also feathered the nest!!

Ladies Links Fore Golf (LL4G) sponsored by the LPGA
Official Online Amateur Golf Community of the LPGA
Check out the new golf publication (website, newsletter, magazine, membership) for women. It’s kinda cool…
The website and magazine are from the LPGA.
An annual membership is $49.00. Please check the site for details. At this time, access to the newsletter (by email) and the magazine are free via the web.
I used to have trouble with the old and now obsolete ‘Golf for Women’ magazine since I couldn’t afford, nor was I interested in $250.00 golf skirts and diamond encrusted ball markers!!
